I recently came across the work of a Russian designer by the name of Dmitry Maksimov. He mixes illustration and photography to create landscapes featuring cute and intruiging robot-esque characters.

While the concept itself isn’t entirely new, Maksimov seems to be able to mix the two elements in wonderfully. A quick look through his own website (all in Russian) reveals a fantastically talented illustrator, who seems to be able to combine traditional photographic landscapes and dream like figures with ease. Each photograph contains a unique atmosphere, that brings the little characters to life.
